23 Aug 13 Devotional from, Experiencing God
Today we learn about the value of patience; patience in growing more Christlike.
God created us in His image to be like Him, and if we allow Him to take control of our lives, He will do so.
God takes His time, however, when molding our hearts and minds. He is not interested in taking shortcuts and getting so-so results. He works on separate parts of you at certain times until you have become full of the Holy Spirit and empty of Self.
The passage from todays message that really stuck out to me, goes as followed, "Do not become impatient while God is producing Christ-likeness in you. Do not seek more responsibilities than those He has given you. Obey all that you know He has asked, and He will lead you at a pace that fits your present character and His purposes for you."
Todays message is short, but extremely detrimental to your life as a Christian. Take solace in knowing that God is working on your heart full time and will never change His mind, no matter how many times we mess up or deny Him.
