God, as our heavenly father, has tasks that He wants us to walk out; number one being, to make disciples and spread His word. However, God speaks to us in many ways about many different things. If you feel like God isn't speaking to you, or hasn't spoken to you in a long time, consider your heart. How did you respond to the last thing He said? Did you ignore it, did you do it half-heartedly? Do you thinking "hearing God" is a crock and you just blew it/Him off entirely?
When God speaks, He expects you to listen, respond and obey, just like your earthly father. However, unlike (some) earthly fathers, your Heavenly Father will remind you a second, third or fourth time what He requests of you, withOUT getting mad, and certainly with love in His heart.
We are God's children, when He needs us to do something in His name, it's our job to say, "Yes Papa" and do it with a servants heart.
