Hunger And Thirst

21 Aug 13 Devotional from, Experiencing God

Today we read about Hunger and Thirst; not for food and water, but for righteousness. In life when we hunger and thirst, it means we are empty, the same goes for spiritual hunger. We should all seek righteousness daily, we should be hungry for it and we should consume it with open hearts.

Henry Blackaby makes a point of saying, "We can not be filled with righteousness, if we are filled with self." Think about that for a while. What is taking precedence in your heart over righteousness. Impure thoughts, selfishness, hate…?
This is easier said than done, obviously, but I urge you to try and remove those idols from your heart and soul and replace them with the love and power of Jesus Christ. He is looking for a place to live, make sure your hearts vacancy sign is turned on. (Boom, cheesy sentiment, to end the post.)
