The Judgement Seat

29 Aug 13 Devotional from, Experiencing God

Todays lesson is another hard one to accept… It's scary, and makes me and probably you, a little ashamed…

One day, we are going to sit at the feet of Jesus and confess and answer to everything we did on earth, and I don't know about you, but I am not perfect… I have done some pretty crazy stuff. The only saving grace to our judgement day is, just that… God's saving grace. He understands that we have made mistakes, and He is willing to love and forgive us anyways.

Knowing that Jesus is going to love and forgive us of our transgressions is a great feeling, but I do not recommend abusing that knowledge and sinning just because you know you are going to get away with it. Instead try to act like Paul, who was aware of the judgment to come, at which point he changed his life to try and honor God as much as possible. He changed his sinful ways, obviously not entirely, but he was aware of what was coming and wanted to do his best to BE his best.

I know trying to be your best all the time is easier said than done, but I suggest we at least give it a try. Remember, Jesus died to save us from our sins, we at least owe him an effort.
