Victory Over Sin

15 Aug 13 devotional from, Experiencing God
(Also, Happy birthday dad…I love you)

I have noticed, reading through this devotional that the authors like to lump subjects together, back to back, day by day. It's rather refreshing actually… It gives you a double dose of reality.
Yesterday we talked about how we still sin even after we become Christians…Today we are talking about taking solace in the VICTORY over that sin.

Everybody sins! Let's just throw that out there right off the bat. But through the grace of Jesus Christ and His sacrifice on the cross, the PENALTY of sin in it's truest form (death) has been struck from our record. If you ask God to come into your heart as your TRUE Lord and Savior, He will protect you from an eternity of pain and sorrow without question. God made the ultimate sacrifice to give US a get out of jail free, card. How awesome is that? (mad props to JC)

To close this post out, I'm going to leave you with an EXTREMELY relatable and very well known verse, that clearly sums up this entire topic.

For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. They are justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, God presented Him as a propitiation through faith in His blood, to demonstrate His righteousness… so that He would be righteous and declare righteous the one who has faith in Jesus. Romans 3:23-26
