So, today we are talking about standing up for your faith and setting an example for other people.
I constantly hear people saying things like "Christians are hypocrites" or "if more christians acted like their bible says they should, maybe they wouldn't scare so many people away" and you know what? That is totally true.
There are so many Christians that SPEAK one way and then ACT a totally different way.
At a church a few weeks ago we went over a (my goodness, brain freeze time) (literary tool, where the first letters of the word starts a new word) Anyway, it was S.C.O.P.E.

Effort
Effort has really stuck in my mind ever since. If everyone put in as much effort as a christian, as you did, just imagine the difference it would make. Now, that being said…you have to think about the effort that you are making…if you make no effort at all and everyone acted like you, no one would move forward. So if you are a hypocritical christian who thinks you can get away with anything, a lot of people are going to follow in your footsteps and bring christianity to a halt. But if you act like the Lord asks us to, and people see it and decide they want to act that way instead, we can help move Christianity forward leaps and bounds.
So, to sum up todays message… We can learn from others by watching how they act, but remember there's always people watching the way you act too…So make sure you are setting the right example.
